Today at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Phil Schiller from Apple has announced that the MacBook Pro 2012 will indeed have the Retina Display, confirming the rumor that surfaced online weeks before the event’s grand opening.
According to the new spec, the updated line of notebook will have four times the number of pixels than the current existing line. And what’s more, it's also confirmed that it will be only 0.71 inches thick, close to the current Apple MacBook Air. The Thunderbolt and 3.0 USB ports were also confirmed to be true.
“Without doubt, it’s the best computer we’ve ever built,” said Schiller at WWDC 2012.
Apple also said to have updated all its native apps to be compatible with the high-resolution display. Some third-party programs, such as FolderWatch, already support the Retina Graphics, while others are on their way.
As for the other specs, MacBook Pro 2012 will come with quad-core processors up to 2.7GHz, and up to 16GB of RAM. The impressive battery can go on for 7 hours.
The price starts at $2,199, and the device will start ship today.
