New 'Worlds Adrift' Game Trailer Shows Boss Studios Letting You Become A Nomad Of The Skies

Become A Nomad Of The Skies And Forge Your Own Path With The Latest Worlds Adrift Blog Update

"So, imagine you are a nomad of the skies."

Morningstar: Descent To Deadrock Out Now

Thus begins the latest update post for Bossa's upcoming open world crafting title, Worlds Adrift. Immediately, your mind takes you to visions of airships, balloons and steampunk glory.

And how right you would be. Take to the skies in your rickety, eternally patched ship and search, explore and survive as you traverse a world that was shattered one thousand years ago. The how and the whys, those are the questions, but not the ones you are tasked with answering.

Worlds Adrift is set in a "persistent, shared multiplayer environment." That means one world per Earth region (they can't overcome the whole "physics" thing quite yet). But don't call it an MMO. "There are no quest hubs and no NPCs standing around forever, waiting to give you tasks. There are no low-level zones and high-level zones, because there will be no levels. There are no static, choreographed environments and events that replay for every new player."

There is just you, and what you want to do within the framework of the game itself. This is actually, in its own way, terrifying. For all their supposed vices, a lack of direction is not usually a criticism. We're always being told where to go, what to think and what to say.

What if someday we weren't? What if someday, we were just cast adrift and left to fend for ourselves?

And are we not living that each and every day?
