In further news, Sony and Marvel will also be working on ways to integrate Marvel heroes into the Spider-Man movies from Sony. Basically, this will not be a one off deal, the two studios will be working together to make Spider-Man a full-fledged member of the MCU.
Which is really how it should be.
"Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios share a love for the characters in the Spider-Man universe and have a long, successful history of working together. This new level of collaboration is the perfect way to take Peter Parker's story into the future," added Doug Belgrad, president, Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group.
Spider-Man movies have been a little bit on the hit or miss side of things. There have been some wins and there have been some major fails in the franchise. By teaming up with Marvel directly, this may put them firmly back on the track of win.
