DC has made a MAJOR announcement today (it's a big day for comics). After dropping the bomb that they were cancelling 14 books with their Convergence storyline, today they released that they would be adding 24 brand spanking new series to diversify their long standing line up.

DC is clearly not afraid to get crazy.
We speculated that the mass cancellation of books could open up slots for new more experimental titles but we originally thought that the company would slim down its line. We were wrong about one of those things.

With the announcement of the 24 new books added to the 25 series that they're already publishing, the company will have 49 ongoing series come June of this year.
However, they are adding a lot more experimental comics to the lineup.
"Beyond character and creators, the June slate will showcase different styles and approaches to storytelling as we add offbeat, irreverently funny titles such as BIZARRO, BAT-MITE and PREZ," co-publisher Jim Lee said in the DC announcement.
They're also pushing for more inclusive stories that feature a wide variety of characters from new takes on old standards to brand new characters.
And with the new massive lineup it shouldn't be hard for everyone to find something they enjoy with the new and old comics.
To help fans ease into the new lineup, the company is releasing DC Comics: Divergence which will feature three, 8-page previews for June releases in May for Free Comic Book Day.
The new titles will begin their roll out on June 3.
