New Season Of The Walking Dead To Be More Brutal Than Ever
"Washington would have infrastructure, Washington would be the place where they would be prepared for this kind of cataclysm. Washington would be a place where they would have resources stored up and plans in place," Kirkman said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
As he points out, it's marked on the map seen in the season's promo picture. Though Eugene turned out to be pretty full of it, there is some wisdom in that.

Of course there's one tiny problem with the city proper of DC, where the infrastructure and all would be.
It's a city, and cities are overrun with zombies. Every time.
Although it would be really great to see the gang interact with a more urban environment again. This is something that they have not done since the beginning seasons but with supplies running dangerously low, they might have to stray into the city.
The entire location is very close to the rumored Alexandria Safe Zone which is a less urban area with quite a few gated communities that would likely be very easy to fortify.
Kirkman does not confirm if we'll be seeing Aaron in the coming season (a sure sign that the Alexandria Safe Zone plot is coming up) he does admit that the show is coming up with comic as far as timeline.
Tune into the new season of The Walking Dead this Sunday on AMC.
