Will the Justice League live action film be one movie or two? This is an issue that has been going back and forth. Recent reports indicate that the film will be broken into two parts. This is probably a mistake.
Khal Drago Meets The Justice League In New Versions Of Aquaman
Celebeat reported that the film would be massive and cut into two parts. Unfortunately there's no credit so this is likely just a rumor, however, it is one that has been circulating for some time. According to the website, part one will come out November 17, 2017 followed by part two June 14, 2019.
This, if true, is a terrible, terrible idea. What are you doing DC? You're trying to beat Marvel. This is not the way to do that.
Justice League Dark Lineup Revealed, May Mean Movie Will Finally Be Filmed
Could you imagine if instead of having a full and imagined story, Avengers was cut into two parts. The first part ended when they captured Loki. Then you would have two wait two years to see what happens next. Two years before you got to see Hulk smash ANYTHING.
That would be disappointing to say the least.
And in this case, entirely unnecessary. DC is putting out standalone origin movies for the characters featured in the Justice League film. Most of the information that would be needed here would be the heroes separate stories.
Cutting them to run separately is a great idea because it means the main film can be a more streamlined experience. The news that this will be cut into two is a sign that the film will be incredibly bloated and slow paced.
Which in recent DC showings has generally been a problem.
DC, stahp.
You don't have to put every nuanced detail into a movie. The viewer will get it just fine. Just focus on a story arc that can be told in no more than two and a half hours, make sure your special effects are on point, and throw in a few Easter Eggs for the diehard fans. That's all you need.
