Justice League Movie News: Jason Momoa's Aquaman To Have Shades Of Khal Drago?

Will The Aquaman In 'Justice League' Be More Aggressive Than The Past?

The coming live action Justice League movie will likely have a full line up of heroes and this includes Aquaman, the butt of so many superhero jokes. But with Jason Momoa (best known as Khal Drago from Game of Thrones) in the role, the nautical hero may start getting the respect he deserves.

Justice League Movie Script Too Complicated For Average Viewers

Momoa spoke to an elderly fan of Aquaman's about the changes that she could expect in the hero during the Smart Works panel at Sundance.

"Well, just going off what you've seen so far ma'am, I don't think he is going to be blonde or white," said Momoa. "I can't really tell you because I haven't shot it yet. I hate to disappoint. But um, you know, I'm a little different than what those others -- I hope you watch it with an open heart."

Obviously, he still has to keep most of the details of the new role under wraps but based on his casting and the very small hints we're giving, this seems like it will be a very different Aquaman than we're used to.

This new Aquaman may be more aggressive than the incarnations we've seen win the past. He also hinted that there would be some more attention paid to his origins.

Aquaman will make an appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before helming is own film in 2018. These films are all part of the DC Movie-Verse so there will also likely be some overlap with other super films slated on the same schedule.
