As the Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference is coming around the corner, rumors and speculations on Apple products are piling up.
One of the most debated issues of this year’s WWDC focus had been on Apple’s MacBook Pro, which had been surrounded by rumors that it will come with a brilliant Retina display and become almost as thin as MacBook Air.
However, what would happen if the MacBook Pro turns out to have a standard resolution and the Retina display information is just another fluke made by the media?
Macotakara.jp and Weiphone.com have posted a photo of what appears to be a spec sheet of the new MacBook 13.3-inch that would normally included in the shipping box with the product.
While many of the specs are in line with other rumors, such as the dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Thunderbolt, and the USB 3.0 ports, its reported screen resolution is highly disappointing – 1280 by 800, which is nowhere near what Apple would call a “Retina Display”.
Apple had been marketing some of its products, such as iPhone 4 and the new iPad, as having “Retina Display”. Claiming that human eyes can perceive about 300 ppi at one foot away from the display, Apple says their products have more pixels than the human eyes can perceive, allowing the images to appear smooth on the screen.
Thus, the rumor about having the Retina Display equipped on Apple’s laptop had given a lot of hype within the tech circles.
But is it really going to happen?
On the other hand, 9to5Mac reported a similar spec sheet of a 15.4-inch MacBook Pro with 2560 by 1600 resolution.
Of course, neither could be trusted at the moment until Apple reveals the truth at the next week’s WWDC.
