Razer's New Arena Platform Provides Tools For Automatic Match Creation And Reporting

Razer has announced a new competitive gaming ecosystem, Arena, and launched its first phase today.

Xbox Live Is Having A Big Sale On EA Games

Razer Arena is a web-based platform that offers competitive tools normally reserved for professional players to everyone. The service will boast automatic match creation and reports, match and tournament lobbies, notifications, and more.

These features often need to be manually handled for users playing on a non-professional level, sometimes requiring players to upload screenshots or replays of matches to prove the results. Razer Arena will be powered by the company's voice chat service, Razer Comms.

"Tournament platforms focus heavily on the professional gaming scene, leaving out the majority of gamers," says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. "That ends today with Razer Arena. Finally it's easy to find the best gamers in your school or your office. There are competitions for every skill level, from casual to pro. You decide how and with whom you compete."

A pretty good goal, no? Whatever you personally think of Razer, it's hard not to appreciate the attempts to innovate in the gaming space. It recently won awards at CES for the new Razer Forge TV, which can stream from your PC to your television. Here's a full list of the features Arena will offer, provided by Razer:
