“Metro: Last Light” screenshots

Metro: Last Light is an upcoming post-apocalyptic survival horror, first-person shooter game. THQ has revealed some E3 screenshots that will be sure to get players excited.

This upcoming game is a sequel to Metro 2033, which was released in March 2010. The game is played from the perspective of Artyom, in post-apocalyptic Moscow. There are a variety of firearms featured in the first installment-some fictional and some based on real weapons, which players will use in combat. The game is based on a novel by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky.

In comparison, Metro: Last Light goes deeper with the story-based play.

"Are you mourning the death of first-person shooter single-player campaigns?" asked Huw Beynon, head of communications for THQ in the first presentation of the game for journalists since it was unveiled a year ago. "This is our bid to combat shooter fatigue. We are crafting a single-player experience that players will remember for years to come. Metro Last Light is more than just a shooter."

Metro: Last Light will be launched in Q1 2013.
