Star Wars 1313 Brings "Darker, Grittier Star Wars" Universe and Gameplay

To paraphrase Johnny Cash, in Star Wars: 1313 you'll blast a man in Coruscant just to watch him glow. Folks do bleed in the Star Wars universe, and possibly with more frequency in this new take on the franchise that does away with the lightsabers and MMORPG to adopt life as a bounty hunter in the underground slums of the planet that gave us Han Solo.

Our nameless bounty hunter and partner/mentor/the-grand-Ewok-for-all-we-know appear to be transporting some criminal scum down when their ship is attacked and the blasting starts. As Game Trailers run the blow-by-blow, the combat is clearly the duck-and-cover format that's invaded every video game concept since Gears of War made us learn to love being a mobile tank.

The descent to 1313 isn't made any easier when the duo start leaping from ship to ship for a little less-than-fresh air:

LucasArts has been mum on literally everything else, making the timeline and placement of 1313 in the grand mythos of the Star Wars universe a big question. Still, e3 is young and they could decide to drop the thermal detonator any time.
