The first in-game footage of Hitman Absolution reveals what we've known all along: there are a lot of ways to kill a man, but dropping cinderblocks on his head remains the most effective.
VG247 sat down with the demo and features highlights from a missions where Agent 47 is tasked to kill the King of Chinatown without knowing exactly why or what the client's intentions are. Hitman having moral objections would be the biggest shift ever for the franchise, we think, but alas.
Highlighted in the footage is the crowd functionality, who seem to act as a massive swarm for 47 to blend in with and hear conversations between folks. Which is kind of funny when early marketing for Absolution stressed how 47 is the original assassin compared to a certain Assassin in Italy who also made use of large crowds. But let's be clear, there's still a ton of ways to kill a target. Showcasing the bull approach of just opening fire draws in police and eventually SWAT teams, so to go equally big but without attracting cops there're explosive options. And for the best score, there's the "natural accident" for those that care more about points than bombast.
Hitman Absolution will undoubtedly impress us further during e3.
