The developers of Cities XXL have provided a slew of new information about the city management simulator ahead of the January 29 launch date.

Two Steam pre-order promotions have been announced for those looking to buy the game early: a 20 percent discount is available to new players, and owners of prequel Cities XL can buy Cities XXL for 50 percent off. If you're interested, those would bring the usual price of $39.99 down to $31.99 and $19.98 respectively.
Next is a new trailer, embedded below, which shows off the sequel in all its glory. The "Life in the City" video is hardly a developer diary providing details about the gameplay, but it does a great job displaying the HD visuals and variety of city-building options available in the game. With sweeping vistas, time-lapsed shots of city growth, and zoomed-in footage of some of Cities XXL's smaller details, the trailer runs the gamut on what you can expect to see in the new title.

Fortunately, a new official website has you covered on those gameplay details the video lacks. The site has all of the information about the pre-order deals, any video content released, and posts on the game's features, engine, Steam Workshop compatibility, and more. Everything you could ask about the game can be found on those pages--there's an impressive suite of features including more than 1,000 unique buildings, animated citizens, green buildings, and a more powerful engine to run it all. Cities XXL launches January 29 on PC.
