There are two mysteries that plague American Horror Story fans- how the seasons are connected and the next season will be about. A small detail in the episode "Magical Thinking" may be a hint to both of these questions.
Will Desiree Dupree Survive The Blood Soaked Season Of American Horror Story?
Chester Creb (Neil Patrick Harris) is a new character who has only been in one episode so far, but may play a large role in the overall mythos of the series. The clue in this case was his expense book that he used to prove to Elsa (Jessica Lange) that he could indeed make money selling chameleons.
There are some interesting theories on the small prop. For one, the book was printed in 1952, which puts it close to the timeline for Operation Top Hat, the fan favorite theory for the plot and setting of next season. The book may be just one more hint that the series is heading to Alabama for the secret government operation.
American Horror Story: Freak Show Promo Shows A Character Return
The second hint is more about the connections between seasons. This season we saw a very important moment that tied together seasons two and four of the show with Pepper, the only character to show up in more than one season.
The book was printed in Detroit which is where the only African-American witch of the Salem line came from. Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe) was from the city originally. A small tie in that honestly, doesn't seem to amount to much but with all the twists and turns of the show, there's still time for it to become something more.
American Horror Story: Freak Show airs on FX at 10 p.m. Wednesdays.
