The annual speedrunning marathon event originally set a target goal of $1 million, which was officially reached last night. There were some great speedruns completed during the event, including everything from Animal Crossing (yes) and blindfolded Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time runs. The latter was particularly impressive, as the player used a series of memorized directions and audio cues to beat three dungeons.
More than 160 speedruns were completed through the event, many of them broadcast live on Twitch. Older titles such as Super Mario Bros and Battletoads were included and many classic games grabbed headlines, but newer games like Dark Souls 2 and Portal 2 were played as well. The best part is that everything has been archived on Twitch, so head over to watch what you may have missed.
