Dead Space Graphic Novel Teases New Game

The next installment in the Dead Space universe takes us planetside according to a motion comic trailer released today.

From EA:

"While patrolling the planet Uxor, Earthgov Sergeant John Carver witnesses an attack on the Marker Site he guards which changes his life forever. John must now fight his way through a colony now in complete chaos as he begins to discover how important he is in fighting the Necromorph plague. This is just the start of John Carver's saga in the Dead Space Universe."

The trailer's big edition appears to be Carver's handling of an actual gun instead of a plasma cutter, torch or psychic enhancements.

It seems there's another spire on Uxor and it's labeled "Shroud 4," which quickly escalates when it's removed and a massive EMP blasts everything--including ships in orbit that come crashing down. It doesn't take long for the xenomorphs to show back up, including a tease of a gigantic "combined" creature.

In the site's source code, there's a clear definition of the page eventually becoming a countdown clock to "DEADSPACE3." Maybe a possible e3 reveal next week will figure out if Carver's just a side-story to a new game, or if our protagonist becomes another James Heller.
