iPhone5 Rumors Persist...

We've already addressed the most pervasive rumor concerning the bigger screen for everyone's favorite Apple gizmo, but there's been one that we haven't gone into too much.

The Armenante Apple news blog has been covering the details concerning changes to the dock connector. In a recent round up addressing ALL the rumors of next iPhone, the blog states, "The first feature that seems to be rumored from every site on the Internet is a change to the dock connector in the next iPhone. This is likely to happen, as the current dock connector has been part of Apple devices now for about 8 years, since the release of the original iPod. The thin 30-pin connector is famous for being the Apple connection of choice for its portable devices. It has been on everything from the iPod Nano to the current iPad. Now, according to the rumors, Apple is thinking it is probably time for a change - the rumor first appeared from iLounge and then it was repeated in iMore. Finally, it was repeated again in a recent article from 9to5 Mac, who have apparently got a source from inside the Apple campus. The rumor states that the dock connector will roughly halve in size and that Apple will more than likely make this new one standard across all their new devices. However, the article didn't mention if there was going to be any changes to the data speed of the connector."

The blog also addressed the rumors of the new screen size, but we've already been down that road.

Apple still has yet to confirm or deny any of the rumors, but they're still expected to make an announcement at the WWDC June 11th.
