Developer Bad Games, which is hopefully was just borne out of an inside joke and not a critique of the quality of their product, has launched their fun and quirky “tower defense” title Selknam Defense onto iOS.
Nine Golems. Three Bases. What Can Go Wrong? A Clash Of Clans Assault Guide
Though technically it should simply be called a “defense” game, as there are units similar to other games in the genre, just none of them are ensconced in towers. The curiosity in the release comes with this: the game is available as a free download in Canada, Australia, Norway and Chile only. We have reached out to Bad Game regarding a US release.
North American players will be happy to know that Selknam Defense is currently on sale via Steam for $2.49. More than just a cunning little strategy title, Selknam Defense takes a page from history and puts you in the shoes of the Selk’nam people as you defend your South American home from European invaders. Like all native tribes against a superior force, however, it does not end well. The wikipedia page is very depressing.

Since games are an escape from reality, hopefully you can change the fate of the indigenous people, if only in a video game.
“In the game, you lead archers, mages and other warriors to fight off waves of attack in the dense forests, freezing tundra, and other lands that you call home. Battle soldiers, pirates and other new-world foes to unlock powerful upgrades and customize your defensive strategy.” You can choose from a variety of heroes to guide your units against seven different enemy types from across 24 different levels.
