“Yes, I bet you have, b****!” While not exactly the most family friendly or quotable of lines, we very well may be on our way towards a more roguish Han Solo if the latest Star Wars casting rumor proves. According to the website Making Star Wars, Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul is “looking to be attached to the first Star Wars spin-off film in some fashion.”

The site went on and stated, “There was no direct implication he was playing Han Solo.” A well trusted insider dropped a few vague details on the Gareth Edwards spin off “solo” film (get it?). It may - or may not - be about everyone’s favorite intergalactic smuggler and his furry friend, but that’s the rumor that’s swirling around Pinewood Studios, where the film will be shooting
The as yet untitled Star Wars spin off movie will be released between the JJ Abrams directed The Force Awakens, due out next December and the Rian Johnson helmed Episode VIII. The source claims that certain elements of the standalone will overlap with the Johnson's outing.

There is no official plot synopsis or anything, so it is very possible Paul will simply be another character, perhaps a young smuggler. Depending on how Disney plans to integrate the spin off and standalone films - if they all take place around the same time a la The Avengers, or if they will include more “prequel-esque” origins story - will determine whether or not Paul dons the Corellian bloodstripes and steps foot into arguably one of the most iconic roles in film history.
Paul did recently portray Luke Skywalker in a live script red of the of The Empire Strikes Back, directed by Jason Reitman. His love for the series is not to be questioned and I’m sure he’s geeking out just thinking about appearing in one of these movies, regardless of the role.
