Tom could have been in the first group. He could have strung up some lights, half assed and sorry. He could have put an inflatable reindeer on his lawn and went back inside, the job done well enough.
But good enough is not enough for Tom. Oh no. Tom wants to be the best. For Tom's second year of decorating he thought he would dedicate his light show to one of the greatest stories ever told. That's right, he made a light show tribute to Star Wars. All of them. Episodes I-VI.

No half measures for Tom.
The display doesn't seem very Star Wars at first glance. The set up features massive instruments and lights. They're not for show. Look closely, those instruments are displaying the notes as the music plays. That's just what type of perfectionist Tom is. He built those himself.
He admits that the beams can be seen for miles around but he went out of his way to make sure that they didn't shine in his neighbors' homes or into flight paths. Good guy, Tom.
This display includes somewhere in the neighborhood of 100,000 lights and if you're in the area of Newark, CA, there will be nightly shows between 6 and 10 p.m. Or you could just watch the attached YouTube video below.
