Looks like the star of the Playstation 3 is finally getting the digital treatment. Starting on June 26th, both "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" and "Uncharted: Among Thieves" will be avliable on the Playstation Network with a twist--all of the DLC for the sequel is currently up for free.
"While we popped the cork a bit early in the States, this is indeed a celebration of the pending arrival of both of Drake's adventures as downloadable digital titles," announced today on the PSN Blog. "When the PS Store updates today, everyone worldwide will be able to download the following DLC content for UNCHARTED 2 absolutely free of charge."
The content is free until the June 26th launch, during which time you'll need to buy the digital copy of "Uncharted: Among Thieves. Game of the Year Edition" to redeem the DLC without paying seperately for it. Which seems like such a fun reason to wait and see if all those downloadable content perks are worth it.
Pricing still TBD, but we wouldn't be surprised if the GOTY edition ran for the same $29.99 it does on retail--ditto for the original game.
In fact, there doesn't seem any incentive to buy the "Uncharted" sequel early unless you can snag a cheap physical copy. But who knows, maybe it's a challenge for aspiring Drakes.
