Stone Blade Entertainment and Playdek have released Realms Unraveled, the sixth expansion (and third in less than six months) to their incredible deckbuilding game Ascension, out now for iOS, Android and PC. Make sure you have you auto-update on the App Store, so you can download immediately.

Realms Unraveled is the tenth new content pack (six expansions and four promotional sets) for the original Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer which debuted in 2011. The game was created by former Magic The Gathering pro player Justin Gary and was released as an analog game in 2010. Today marks the first time that both the analog and digital sets have the same amount of content available to each, which will hopefully mean that new expansions drop for both versions on the same day in the future.
The expansion forgoes the Energy mechanic found in the previous two expansions, Rise of Vigil (review) and Darkness Unleashed (review) instead opting to create new ‘dual faction’ cards and reintroducing the beloved Unite mechanic. The repurposed ‘Multi-Unite’ “offers huge rewards to players who play multiple heroes from the same faction in a single turn”.
Tales From The Borderlands Now Available On Google Play
The set comes with 67 new cards, plus four new drawings for the basic Apprentice, Militia, Mystic and Heavy Infantry cards. The new number is somewhat deceptive, as certain cards are counted towards each faction.
The Transform mechanic will ‘level up’ certain cards if and when particular conditions, usually ‘playing another card while this card is still in your hand’. A big new addition to Realms Unraveled is that select monster cards may now also be transformed.
Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer is available for purchase on the App Store, Google Play and Steam. Realms Unraveled costs $2.99 and I may be biased because I think it is one of the finest games you can own on any device, but you should check it out.
