Hulu announced today that its library of TV episodes available for streaming exclusively through them is about to get a whole lot bigger thanks to a deal with Fox regarding two of its satellite channels, FX and FXX.
The Steam Holiday Sale Goes Live
Fox has always been a friend of Hulu's (which makes sense considering 21st Century Fox is the company's largest shareholder), and it looks like that partnership is going to get a lot closer thanks to this exclusivity deal. For fans of watching Archer and It's Always Sunny on Netflix, don't panic. Older shows don't seem to be on Hulu's list of shows on lockdown – not yet, anyway. Instead, Hulu's new deal focuses on shows that debuted this year and shows that are coming out next year.
Hulu Plus members will have access to the entire first seasons of new FX shows like Tyrant, The Strain, Married and You're the Worst before their second season premieres next year. The deal also includes streaming exclusivity for future FX shows that will be debuting in 2015 ans 2016. These include The Comedians, a comedy series with Billy Crystal and Josh Gad, and Baskets, a show planned for 2016 that is being produced by Louis C.K. and will feature Zach Galifianakis.
Gotham Is Now Casting For Dick Grayson's Parents, Hinting That Robin's Backstory Will Appear Soon
M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming Fox series Wayward Pines is also coming to Hulu once it premieres in mid-2015. Hulu Plus members will be able to watch episodes of this series that stars Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard and Melissa Leo the day after they air.
