It turns out Sony has more planned for CES 2015 than just a new smartphone. Sony announced today that the Las Vegas show will see the first public reveal of Sony's new bit of gear that plans to turn any pair of glasses into a smart device.
Samsung Said To Be In Talks With An Apple Pay Competitor
Sony is currently developing what it calls a Single-Lens Display Module. In regular terms, it's a little add-on that can clip onto a pair of glasses and provide the wearer with a small screen on the right edge of his vision. The relatively small package comes with a camera, Bluetooth and wireless capabilities so it can connect with a more powerful device, like the wearer's smartphone. It can also be easily removed if the wearer wants to go incognito for a little bit.
At CES, which kicks off in Las Vegas on January 6, Sony plans to show off one build of its new technology. Named "SmartEyeglass Attach!," this particular model is specifically geared toward the sports market and is meant to be attached to whatever eyewear customers normally wear when they exercise. Sony's concept art shows off possible athletic uses of its tech such as tracking routes and distance as you run or helping you figure out the distance to the next hole during your game of golf.

According to reports, Sony also plans on using CES 2015 to reveal the next iteration of its Xperia smartphone line. CES will run in Las Vegas from Tuesday, January 6, through Friday, January 9.
