The latest DLC expansion for Crusader Kings II is now live across platforms, as is the free patch that comes with it.
Civilization: Beyond Earth Hits Linux This Week
The new expansion, Way of Life, is available for players to buy for $7.99 on all three platforms: Windows, Mac and Linux. The expansion focuses on providing more role-playing elements in the existing game to allow players to give their leaders a bit more personality as they expand their influence across Europe.
With Way of Life, players can choose which characters they'd like to seduce, break off the relationship when they feel like moving on and then challenge other characters to a duel to prove a political point or just to waste some time. Way of Life also introduces a new Focus system that allows players to give their leaders certain values that will affect how they rule their domain. With an economic Focus, rulers will start filling up their treasury, but an educational Focus will make them start investing in research.
Two New Elements Being Introduced In Skylanders: Trap Team
Way of Life adds hundreds of new events (some tied to specific Focuses) and 20 event pictures to Crusader Kings II.
As with every expansion for Crusader Kings II, Way of Life was released with a patch for the base game, so even players who don't want to fork over any cash can enjoy new features. Patch 2.3 includes a couple of larger changes. Popes, for example, were nerfed a bit and now only receive a fraction of the money they used to receive from bishops. Further, the patch added a new event system for husbands to discover if they have an unfaithful lover.
The update also includes a whole pile of bug fixes, which you can check out in its entirety in the patch notes.
Crusader Kings II is now available on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux. If you hurry, you might still be able to take advantage of the current 75 percent off sale on the game and all its add-ons.
