Samsung unveiled its latest Smartphone Samsung Galaxy S3 just a week ago, and pre-ordering for the device has hit over nine million.
The company has received 9 million pre-orders for its third-generation Galaxy S Smartphone as per a report from Korea Economic Daily.
"The amount is extraordinary, considering the S2 - which battled with the iPhone to be the world's biggest-selling phone last year - took about six months to sell 10 million phones, and 11 months to sell 20 million," writes MailOnline.
Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the most anticipated Smartphones of the year. The Galaxy S3 has been designed for humans with inspiration taken from nature making everyday life easier. Some of the features that is packed into the Galaxy S3 are churning out big pre-order numbers for Samsung.
Super AMOLED Display
The Galaxy S3 comes with a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display screen, powered by Android 4.0 with Ice Cream Sandwich. Along with a rear 8MP camera and a front 1.9MP front camera, the device works with a variety of intelligent camera and face recognition related features.
Exynos 4 Quad Processor
The Smartphone is designed with a new energy-efficient chip exceeding 1.4GHz per core with multi-tasking features and powerful performance using efficient energy management technology. The Galaxy S3 has 1GB RAM and storage space is available in 16GB/32GB/64GB variants and can be further expanded to the 64GB microSD slot.
Smart Stay
The 'Smart stay' feature detects a user's behavior of using the phone while reading an e-book or browsing the web. It offers Wi-Fi Channel Bonding which doubles the Wi-Fi bandwidth.
The "S Voice" enables natural language user interfaces to listen and respond to words. Not only can it recognize a user's face and voice, the Galaxy S3 is also designed to understand motions to offer maximized usability.
It also comes with "Smart Alert" which allows users to keep track of missed messages or calls. It vibrates to notify missed statuses when picked up after being idle.
Unlocked GSM Version
Recent reports say that US customers will have an opportunity to pre-order an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-19300 on some online retail stores. Amazon and Expansys plan to be selling the new Smartphones for US customers.
Additional features include a newly incorporated Near Field Communication (NFC) technology for easy mobile payment accessibility along with "Game Hub," which provides access to numerous social games.
Samsung Galaxy S3 will be available in Germany on May 29 before rolling out to the global markets.
