The weekend has arrived, meaning mysterious Destiny merchant Xur is back, as well. The vendor is the only one in the game to sell exotic weapons, and every week is different than the last.
The Names Of Characters From The Star Wars The Force Awakens Trailer Have Been Revealed
Xur is always in a new location from one week to the next, and his stock differs every time. He appears on Friday and departs (usually early) on Sunday, offering one exotic armor item for each class, an exotic weapon, and an exotic engram to gamble on.
This is his first weekend visiting with The Dark Below released, so things have changed. For the first time, Xur now has a selection of items to upgrade in addition to his normal wares--the new list you see in his inventory is not simply gear for sale. You need the original weapon or armor piece to trade in for an upgrade, an Exotic Shard, and some Glimmer--this is meant to keep original exotics relevant. Xur is currently located in the Hall of Guardians, where you find the Crucible and Vanguard vendors--down the main staircase in the center of the Tower and off to the left.
How To Use Destiny's New Vanguard Gear From The Dark Below To Reach Level 30
Titans can purchase brand new The Dark Below gauntlets, Ruin Wings. The other classes get only exotics from the original game, but there are plenty of weeks to rotate in the future. Hunters can purchase the excellent and creepy Achlyophage Symbiote, while Warlocks are offered the Voidfang Vestments chest piece. The exotic weapon this week is the rocket launcher Truth, which hunts down enemies and detonates on proximity.
Xur also is selling the usual exotic helmet engram and the new Exotic Shard, needed to upgrade. Available for upgrade this week, for the first time, are the following armor pieces: Mask of the Third Man, Young Ahamkara's Spine, The Armamentarium, No Backup Plans, Light Beyond Nemesis, and Sunbreakers. For the weapons you can upgrade Suros Regime, Red Death, The Last Word, Thorn, Ice Breaker, and Thunderlord.
