Total War Rome 2 Campaign Pack Wrath Of Sparta Announced, Coming This Month Featuring New Greek Content

If the announcement of Total War Battles: Kingdoms and consistent information updates on Total War: Attila weren't enough for fans of the strategy series to keep up with, how does a new campaign for Rome II sound?

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Patch Released, Improves Matchmaking Flow

The Creative Assembly today announced the Wrath of Sparta expansion for Total War: Rome II, which focuses on a new campaign centered around the start of the Peloponnesian War in 432 BC. This will be the earliest time period a Total War game has taken place in, and is set for release on December 16. Here's the developer's brief description:

"As the legendary warriors of Sparta are called into open conflict against an arrogant Athens by scheming Korinthos and Boiotia, Wrath of Sparta challenges you to dominate the Hellenic world. However, while the City States vie for control of their homelands, across the Aegean Sea the vengeful Persian Empire watches its old foe closely..."

The campaign, of course, focuses on Greece and boasts new units, tech trees, wonders, and heroes. The new content is shown off in some of the new Rally Point episode (The Creative Assembly's development series), alongside another look at Total War: Attila. You can hear the team speak about the expansion and check out some in-game footage. There are no details on Wrath of Sparta's cost at this time.
