Warface Gets In The Seasonal Spirit With Siberian-Themed Update 'Operation Cold Peak'; Xbox 360 Support Shut Down

Oh, the weather outside is weather. Crytek is getting on the winter bandwagon with the newest update to their co-op free to play shooter, Warface. The Operation Cold Peak pack takes players to that magical, faraway place...Siberia.

Sunset Overdrive New Patch Fixes Some Minor, Non-Game Breaking Issues

The first new map is titled Spearhead and in addition to forcing players to contend with the elements, it also introduces several new enemies and “tactical options”. And by tactical options, we of course mean ‘jetpacks’, which the Blackwood forces will now be sporting. Players will also have secondary objectives which can net them in-game currency “which can then be spent in real-time to deploy mines, build barriers and set traps that will help them to hold their position.”

Spearhead is the first of three new maps coming to Warface via the Operation Cold Peak pack. The next two installments, Ambush and Zenith, will launch in the forthcoming months.

The new update comes amidst the news that Warface will be shutting down its servers on the Xbox 360. Interested players can no longer sign up, but current Warfacers can continue playing the game until February 1, 2015 at which point the game will be deactivated from the console.

PC players can download Warface via the Official Site or from Steam. Fear not, the game is free to play.
