The original PlayStation has officially turned 20 years old this year, and Sony is celebrating with a slick limited edition PlayStation 4 that pays tribute to the original console. There are also special PS1 themes available for PS4, PS3 and Vita for those of us who don't necessarily want to buy a whole console to celebrate.

The newly announced 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 is Sony's way of bringing the PlayStation family of consoles back to its roots. The PS4 features the original gray color of the PS1, in addition to sporting the console's iconic quad-colored logo. The limited edition console comes with a DualShock 4 and the PlayStation 4 Camera that everyone has since forgotten about. Both sport the same gray color scheme, and the DualShock even includes the four original colors for the PlayStation face buttons.
Sony also released a special unboxing video for the first console that came off the production line. You can watch that below.

Only 12,300 of these consoles are being made for worldwide distribution, and each console comes with an aluminum plate that lets you know what your console's production number was out of that limited batch. Preorders for this limited edition PS4 start on Saturday, December 6, and details on how to get your own order in will be presented at the PlayStation Experience keynote earlier that day. So make sure to find a stream if you want to find out how to snag one of these beauties.
If you still want to celebrate the PlayStation's 20th birthday but don't feel like shelling out for a new PS4, Sony has helpfully offered a free alternative. As Eurogamer reported, a new PS1-inspired theme has released for PS4, PS3 and Vita. The theme isn't anything too special, but it does inject some of that original gray and those classic PlayStation colors into your console's background.
Keep your eyes peeled this weekend for more information on how to get yourself this limited edition console that combines new PlayStation tech with classic PlayStation charm.
