Best Buy's Cyber Monday Deals Is All About The Bundles
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby have had the biggest week one sales of any entry in the franchise to date in the United Kingdom. The popular release was big enough for the 3DS title to crack the top 10 of UK sales, giving Nintendo its only showing amongst the video gaming elite.
According to GFK Chart, Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby, remakes of the GBA games Sapphire and Ruby, debuted to a 17% increase over last year's Pokemon X and Y. Worldwide, X and Y have sold over 12 million copies, roughly 4 million of which in the US alone, as of this August (the most recent time such data is available). No word on the numbers of units sold here in the States, but if it's like any other Pokemon game, it will be huge.

The 3DS titles placed 6th and 7th in the charts, a decent showing but still far from the one and two spot occupied by Pokemon Black and White back in 2011, though the competition during that time consisted mostly of Killzone. Black and White would go on to sell over seven million copies.
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby have a prestigious heritage to live up to. The original Sapphire and Ruby titles for the Game Boy Advanced, released in 2002, sold over 15 million copies and is generally beloved as one of the best entries into the series.
The week's other big Nintendo release, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, debuted at number 13 in the UK, prompting the universal call of 'The hell, Britain?'
Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby are available in stores or via the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
