From the minute he was first introduced in Breaking Bad, it was clear that Saul Goodman was going to be a character unto himself. The slick, slightly unethical lawyer who just so happened to be very good at his job, Bob Odenkirk (of Mr. Show) brought a great level of energy to the character.

But even still, a Saul Goodman spinoff? We're naturally very hesitant about the whole affair. Supporting characters are just that - support - for a reason. But as the latest clip from the upcoming Better Call Saul series, there may be no Walter White around but that doesn't stop Saul from being worth a look or two.
The new clip is the first "meeting" between Saul and his enforcer Mike Ehrmantraut (the always deadpan Jonathan Banks). Needless to say, they weren't friends in Breaking Bad and it sure looks like they won't be friends in the sense we normally think of the word.

The whole minute long clip is anchored by the wonderful work of Odenkirk. I am against the series in a spiritual sense; BB is perfect and doesn't need a universe, but anything that puts Bob Odenkirk back up on any screen is fine by me.
There is practically no character on the original AMC megahit that couldn't be the anchor to his or her own show. Breaking Skylar? Would watch. Face/Off starring Giancarlo Esposito? Emmy winner before it even airs.
Check out the fun clip below. Better Call Saul premieres as two parts on AMC on February 8 and 9, 2015.
