Civilization: Beyond Earth Patch Notes: Big Update Will Soon Add Batter Balance To The Game

Civilization: Beyond Earth Is About TO Get A Big Balance Patch

Mac players have just started digging into Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth, but PC players are about to see a breath of life injected into their own version of the game. A little more than a month after launch, the development team at Firaxis has announced the details behind the game's first patch, and it's a big one.

The upcoming patch, said to be "almost ready" by Firaxis, will improve general gameplay of Beyond Earth by better balancing several different elements of the game. The difficulty scaling will be increased so that computer players on the hardest difficulty level will be trickier to beat. The AI is also receiving a general boost in intelligence, with better management skills and victory approaches. Many leader bonuses and options for the game's seeded start are being better balanced as well.

The UI in Beyond Earth has been another popular topic of criticism among the game's fans, and the patch covers this area, too. The game's Tech Web will now be better color-coded for easy scanning, something that was actually put into the game earlier by one of the game's top mods. The patch will also add support for touch, gesture and pen controls for players who like to ditch the mouse from time to time.

The patch also touches on the desyncs that have been plaguing multiplayer matches since launch. Many multiplayer fans were reporting that desyncs sometimes caused by higher latency were causing them to lose progress during these games. Hopefully, this patch will start to address these issues so Beyond Earth multiplayer is less of a dice roll.

Civilization: Beyond Earth is now available for PC and Mac. A Linux version is coming soon, probably within two or three weeks.
