Seven new channel apps are coming to Google's Chromecast, including kid-friendly content producers like Nickelodeon and Sesame Street.

Google announced today (thanks, 9to5Google) that it's expanding the casting queue for users with its Chromecast dongle with seven new apps. A couple of big-name entertainment networks are among these seven, including Viacom properties Nickelodeon and Comedy Central. So whether you're looking for family-friendly content like Spongebob Squarepants or not-so-kid-friendly content like South Park and Key and Peele, Chromecast has you covered.

Also joining the family of Chromecast-compatible apps is Sesame Street Go, which will let you stream the best of Sesame Street's songs, lessons and disarmingly well done parodies.

Four more apps round out the new collection of Chromecast additions. EPIX and Encore Play give streamers access to many top movies. YuppTV can bring loads of Indian content to any household. Finally, TuneIn offers access to millions of podcasts and radio stations from around the world.

These apps join the already impressive library of streaming apps that have added in Chromecast compatibility. Apps like Netflix, Hulu Plus, PBS Kids, HBO Go and MLB.tv have already implemented support for Google's little media player. Of course, much of this content requires subscriptions to the apps themselves for access, but if you already have access to many of these apps, getting them on your TV is just a $35 dongle away.
