Stronghold Crusader II has been out for a while now. The medieval action strategy title has gotten a few new maps and some upgrades, but there's still more coming down the Appian Way. Developer Firefly Studios today released a dev video answering questions regarding any and all upcoming DLC.
Let's Get Down To Business To Defeat The Huns In February Total War: Attila
Nick from Firefly takes your questions! Right now, the studio is focused on improving gameplay with a series of minor fixes. As we've learned in recent weeks, no game is perfect and everything can be improved. There are "numerous feature updates planned" with "options that harken back to Stronghold I". Don't worry fans, classic Crusader I maps are in coming. Just be a little patient.
"We're going to have eight AI characters...eight additional ones which are going to come as DLC."

The best part is that Nick confirms that the "majority of new content for the game will be free."
The pre-order campaigns are still available, if you pick up a physical version. Currently, the pre-order bonuses will not be available anytime soon.
As for the Mac version? Don't hold your breath for the time being. They have a small team of coders working hard. They do want a Linux version, too!
There are no current plans for a Stronghold Crusader II Extreme. The original extreme edition for the first game added 10,000 unit armies for a truly global path of destruction. Ask Firefly again in 2022, and then maybe they'll bring out the goods.
