Minecraft console developer 4J Studios announced over Twitter today that the free Halloween texture pack that went out to Microsoft systems a couple of weeks ago is now available on Sony platforms. Better late than never.

The pack comes with a themed user interface and, of course, spooky new textures that you can use to build up a new world from scratch or just to refurbish your existing worlds when you're looking to spread a little Halloween spirit, even if it's in the middle of November.
The free texture pack actually made it onto the PlayStation 3 right on Halloween, but the other Sony systems, the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, have been patiently waiting their turn.

If you're looking to let werewolves and Slender Men wander through your Minecraft worlds while you wade through eerie, green water, then this is a solid pack to pick up. Even if you're too into the Thanksgiving spirit already – or are one of those people that gets into Christmas way too early – you might as well pick it up while it's free so you'll have it when Halloween rolls around next year.
Most recently, Minecraft launched on the PS Vita, but it's not done spreading to new systems yet. The Windows Phone is set to be Minecraft's next platform launch.
