"God of War: Ascension" is an epic adventure allowing players to control an ex-Spartan warrior Kratos as he tries to break bonds from the god, Ares. He is sentenced to life in a titan sized prison after being tricked to kill his wife and child.
"We're providing a deeper look into Kratos' tormented past and psyche that fans have not seen before. Combined with refined gameplay, jaw-dropping visuals, and a fresh twist on competitive gaming with our new online multiplayer mode, I guarantee that God of War: Ascension will give fans what they have been eagerly waiting for, and much more," said Todd Papy, Game Director of God of War: Ascension.
What is intriguing is that though Kratos is not playable in the multiplayer mode, he is the central character of the one player story mode featuring unlockable suite which includes possibilities of customizing the gods accordingly.
"I want this to be better than three, better than two, better than one but I want to take everything that played in one, and everything they played in two and three and make it feel familiar just better, like this is better and it just keep getting better," said Mark Simon, Lead Game Designer of God of War Ascension.
The game is expected to hit stores in 2013 exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
