Far Cry 4 finally hits PCs and consoles today, and we've got a slick new launch trailer to welcome us to Kyrat. Also waiting for us in Kyrat are a Day One patch and a second patch that's already on the way.
Xbox One Players Get The Second Half Of Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare's Lag Patch
The game's Day One patch fixes a solid collection of launch bugs across platforms, so make sure you're downloading the latest Far Cry 4 before you start loading it up. The full fix list for the game's Day One patch can be found over on Ubisoft's forums.
Ubisoft has also released their list of known issues with the game (not unlike what they did for Assassin's Creed Unity) that they plan to fix in the next patch for Far Cry 4. These issues are helpfully categorized by platform over on this thread. Based on this list, Patch 2 looks to contain some much more substantial fixes than the smaller bug patch available today, so look out for this update to go live in the near future.
Even Assassin's Creed Unity's Patches Seem To Be Breaking The Game Now
Far Cry 4 follows the story of Ajay Ghale, a native of the Himalayan country of Kyrat who grew up with his mother in America. When he returns to Kyrat to scatter his mother's ashes, he finds himself caught up in a violent civil war that his parents had helped start years ago.
Like Far Cry 3 before it, players will be able to explore the exotic landscape, capture outposts, hunt animals and use all kinds of high-powered weapons in the process. New to the formula is the choice-based narrative and the game's revamped co-op gameplay, which allows pairs of friends to explore the entire Himalayan setting on foot, behind the wheel or by flying through the air on a gyrocopter. The weaponized elephants are a new touch, too.
Far Cry 4 is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
