In the computer world, Microsoft Office is ubiquitous. No matter how many documents you make in Pages, people will still refer to them as Word files, and they'll get confused when the file name doesn't end in .doc. No matter how many presentations you make in Keynote, you'll still get asked when your PowerPoint will be ready. For everyone who's ready to cut out the middle man, Microsoft is putting the three main Office programs on iPhones for no charge. All you have to do is sign in with a free Microsoft account, and you're ready to go.
Microsoft also announced today that Android tablets are set to get access to the Office suite in early 2015. Android tablet users who can hardly wait can try their luck with early access and see if they can get in on the preview. Sign-ups for the preview can be found here.

iPads have had access to Microsoft Office since earlier this year, and the response was positive enough that Microsoft is updating the apps for all iOS users, adding iPhone support and several new features, including Dropbox functionality.
“With over a billion Office customers worldwide, and over 40 million downloads on the iPad, it’s clear that Office applications are what people want to use to get things done," said John Case, corporate vice president of Office at Microsoft, in a release.
