The soundtrack for Assassin's Creed Unity has shown up for preorder on both iTunes and Google Play, which means every track from the 51-song collection is available for a 30-second preview.
What's New In Naval Gameplay In Assassin's Creed Rogue
The soundtrack is split up into two volumes, one composed by Chris Tilton and the other by Sarah Schachner. Tilton's work can be heard on the TV show Fringe, and he has worked with games previously when he scored 2013's SimCity. Schachner is a Ubisoft veteran, having helped score Assassin's Creed Black Flag and Far Cry 3. Both volumes of Unity's soundtrack can be found separately on iTunes (first, second) and Google Play (first, second).
A lot of the soundtrack is what you might expect from an Assassin's Creed game: suspenseful strings that are then intermingled with pounding drums and brass when they need something louder. The more orchestral feel that Unity's soundtrack seems to channel more often than not is very fitting for a cultural center like Paris at a time when Europe was enjoying the heyday of the Classical period of music.

The soundtrack doesn't stick to period styles of music, though. You can also hear modern, synthesized sounds interwoven with the orchestra, especially in tracks like "Chandeliers and Carnage" on the second volume of the soundtrack.
Unity's soundtrack will release on November 4, but they're up for preorder now. For whatever reason, the two volumes are $8 each on Google Play but $11 each on iTunes. Assassin's Creed Unity itself will hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC systems on November 11.
