Well this might start getting the Xbox One's sales numbers up.
Microsoft announced today that all Xbox One consoles, whether in a bundle, sold solo or packed with a Kinect, will be getting a temporary $50 price cut starting November 2. This means that base Xbox One systems and special bundles like the Assassin's Creed bundle or the special white Sunset Overdrive bundle will be on sale for $349. Getting an Xbox with the Kinect included or the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare bundle with the special 1 TB HDD will run gamers $449.
These prices will hold firm until January 3, giving gamers two whole months of pretty great Xbox One deals.
They've Got More Than Just Xboxes Over At Redmond; Microsoft Made Some Serious Bank This Year
This drop has some pretty significant implications going into this holiday season. When the system launched last year, the PlayStation 4 held a distinct $100 price advantage over the Xbox One. Microsoft then introduced a console package without the Kinect 2.0 to achieve price parity with Sony's sales giant. With these $349 Xbox One consoles hitting the market, it marks the first time that Microsoft is beating Sony on the price point. Considering that some of these bundles also come with a fair number of quality games (the Assassin's Creed bundles include not only Unity but last year's Black Flag), Microsoft has made it more enticing than ever for un-upgraded console gamers to jump on the Xbox train.
"Fans don't have to wait for Black Friday this year to enjoy great savings on Xbox One. We're offering our best price yet, with unprecedented choices and value, so more people can play on Xbox One this holiday," said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of Microsoft, in a release.
