Slender: The Arrival is getting next-gen releases for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U, according to newly released PEGI ratings information.
How The PS4's Upcoming Share Play Feature Works
According to the ratings information (found over at Eurogamer), Slender Man's 2013 title is getting a release for all three major next-gen consoles. No exact release date has been announced yet, but judging by the timeline of the PS3 and Xbox 360 ports, a January release would not be out of the question. On the same PEGI ratings page, you can see that the last-gen console ports were first rated at the end of June, and they were released at the end of September.
Slender: The Arrival is the sequel to the original Slender: The Eight Pages, though it was developed and published by different companies. The survival horror title arms the player with only a flashlight and tasks her with solving the mysteries of a haunted town. The player will piece together clues from people who have been affected by the hauntings and mysterious audio files that she comes across to craft a picture of who or what is causing these anomalies, all while being pursued by the unshakable presence of Slender Man.
Slender: The Arrival Launches For Consoles With New Release Trailer
Of course, it kind of blunts the fear factor of a survival horror game when you realize it's rated PEGI 12.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 ports of the game, which released about a month ago, expanded the story and added some extra content to the existing levels of the PC version that released last year. The extra content was then made available as free DLC to the PC player base.
Slender: The Arrival is currently available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
