Fans of "Call of Duty's" Elite services can now expect the same offerings for "Ghost Recon" according to Ubisoft's announcement.
"The Ghost Recon Network" will be a free companion service and the company plans to utilize it for future Ghost Recon titles. The network service caters to mobile devices as it delivers stat-tracking, game status updates, leader boards, uploading galleries of weapons, view other player's weapons, and following a friend's game activity.
Additional services also gives players access to heat maps of previous battles, new weapons, and squad management features. Gamers can test drive the network via a multiplayer beta launching on April 19. A beta can be obtained by purchasing Splinter Cell Convictions or placing a pre order for Ghost Recon: Future Soldiers for Xbox 360.
Multiplayer features up to 12 players battling it out in two modes and three classes. The two modes are Conflict and Saboteur.
Among the three classes, players can choose from Rifleman, Engineer, and Scout.
In conflict mode, players have objectives scattered throughout the map. The team that completes and earns the most points at the end of a 15 minute round wins.
For Saboteur, bombs appear at certain locations and teams race to retrieve them and detonate it within the opposing team's base.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is schedule for a May 22 release and will be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PC version will hit stores in later in June.
