Much like sausage, we don't want to know how wrestling is actually made. Conversely, we do want to know how wrestling games are made. At least, that's what 2K is banking on. The company has released the second of their behind the scenes videos highlighting the development of WWE 2K15.
Reach For The Skies With Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward
The video is titled 'The Game Has Changed' and we certainly cannot deny that. Thanks to the console transition, the production team over at 2K is basically breaking down the elements of a WWE game and building them back up. They claim that while the player characters have improved visually over the years, each of the wrestlers still played mostly the same.
This year, they're focusing on individual characters. WWE 2K15 will feature six times the amount of mocap from last year's. You can watch Cesaro, Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn all dolled up in a mocap suit (the second most hilarious outfit for a man to wear; the first being wrestling tights) flying, kicking and slamming one another in the ring. Each character will feel more like themselves, utilizing their own signature moves via QTE events.

The team is also attempting to create a more cinematic style to the matches. The camera is now unmoored and will focus in on the character's faces. The dev team talks a lot about 'pacing' and have introduced elements into the entrance, beginning, middle and end of the fight that will feel more like being in a match, rather than just playing a game.
And, of course, WWE 2K15 looks pretty great, too. Check out the full behind the scenes video below. WWE 2K15 is out next week on October 28 for PS3 and Xbox 360, and November 18 for Xbox One and PS4.
