A large update to the Galactic Civilizations III beta is dropping today, finally implementing the diplomacy system along with other additions, including a new race.
Minecraft For PS Vita Released In PlayStation Store Update
The Krynn, a conglomerate of species united under an organized crime syndicate, have now entered the interstellar fray as a playable faction. This is the first major update to the early access beta, which is currently available for a discounted $44.99 on Steam.
The introduction of diplomacy has been long-awaited by the early access players, as it provides the primary alternative to being forced into a war with every other faction. The game isn't truly complete without it, like playing Civilization or any other strategy series wouldn't be.

Included in this is the United Planets, a U.N.-like system that allows everyone to help govern the galaxy together through votes. Diplomacy also opens up a host of new victory conditions, both through alliances and the United Planets.
The update really does add a lot to the beta--so many fixes, in fact, that the developers list the "balance" section of the changelog as "too many changes to mention". The map size "huge" has also been added to the game, along with discoverable precursor relics. Less glamorous additions include a long list of fixes and AI improvements, which upgrade both performance and gameplay.
