Now that the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros has been released worldwide, the need for the daily updates from series director Masahiro Sakurai has lessened considerably. We've kept an eye on it, though, for bits of info related to the Wii U version of the game, and today's post teases a new game mode.
Minecraft For PS Vita Released In PlayStation Store Update, Available Now For $19.99
The above image was posted on the Miiverse forums by Sakurai as the daily update, and clearly shows off a mode involving either the Master Hand or Crazy Hand. Both are enemies you can face at the end of Classic mode, but in this instance the focus is clearly on the two.
Unlike in Classic, where they battle you simultaneously, the enemies appear split into two modes, and the piles of coins hint at some sort of score-based challenge. Perhaps you fight one of them as long as you can for a high score, like the endless melee mode. More wild speculation is that you could even play as the characters in these modes, something that has never been offered by the developers before.

All Sakurai has to say on the subject is the tease "now, what mode is this...?!". That tells us next to nothing, and with the names obscured by blurred pixels, we can only speculate until he decides to say more. Throw out your best guesses in the comments below, or suggest what you most wish the mode will be--you may end up being correct.
