Microsoft really wants you to preorder games through its Microsoft Store this holiday season, and to give Xbox players more incentive to do so, it's offering exclusive preorder bonuses for this season's most hyped Xbox One exclusives: Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Sunset Overdrive Goes Gold, Celebrates With Bizarre Video
Preordering Sunset Overdrive through the Microsoft Store will get players a couple of special weapons, the Acordes de la Muerte (a guitar with melting candles on it) and The Hangover (an electrified pitchfork with a stack of beer cans as the handle). Further, preordering the special Xbox One bundle through the Microsoft Store will net players an exclusive Sunset Overdrive-branded stand for the Xbox One controller. The stand even shares the special white color palette that the bundled console rocks, making the whole package mesh well aesthetically.
In addition to all of these special bonuses, preordering Sunset Overdrive from the Microsoft Store will also get players access to all of the Day One weapons and outfits, the preorder bonuses that come with the game regardless of where it was purchased.
Behind The Scenes Of Sunset Overdrive's Live-Action Trailer
Preordering Halo: The Master Chief Collection through the Microsoft Store will get you a Master Chief window decal and a vanity license plate frame that reads "My Other Car is a Warthog" so you can show random people on the street how big your love for Halo remains after all these years. You'll also unlock an exclusive power-up that doubles explosion physics in Halo 2: Anniversary.
Finally, Microsoft is now offering Xbox Live Rewards members 15,000 rewards credits – $15 in real money – for each Xbox One or Xbox 360 game they preorder through the Microsoft Store for up to three games. This is an increase from the regular 10,000 points a preorder will usually get players. This offer lasts through this upcoming holiday season.
Sunset Overdrive will be available on the Xbox One on October 28. Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available on Xbox One starting November 11.
