Bioshock Infinite may be saving its best Heavy Hitter villain for last. Development company, Irrational Games, revealed its fourth and final big bad enemy 'Siren' with a new video trailer.
Fans are witnessing creepier and creepier Heavy Hitters with each update. Siren is a terrifying foe as she uses spiritual powers to raise enemies back from the dead. As the Bioshock development team describes, Siren possesses a 'sense of the spiritual world' and can be a main contact to the dead.
In the video trailer, Siren floats in mid air and lifts up two corpses using bolts of energy. After several flashes, the corpses would be revived and ready to continue combat with our hero.
As the development team was creating the latest Heavy Hitter, they wanted to create a flowy and mystical appearance for Siren. Using her voice, she'd sing a song that could raise the dead.
Players are faced with the option to gun down the newly resurrected bodies, or go after the one who raised them, hoping that eliminating Siren will send all those enemies back to dead.
Siren now joins the other Heavy Hitters, The Handymen, Boys of Silence, and the Motorized Patriot. Each villain has its own unique mode for destruction.
The Handyman uses brute force to pulverize players with its robotic arms. The Handyman is big but deceptively agile. Being built with augmented iron parts, an attack from this mechanical giant can be devastating.
The Boys of Silence are a creepy bunch as they utilize sound rather than sight to track down players. Utilizing giant trumpet powered helmets, the Boys of Silence can locate their target by hearing and call for backup. This makes killing them a real challenge. If taking them on appears to be too high of a risk, players can opt to sneak away from them, showcasing Bioshock's new stealthy gameplay.
As for the Motorized Patriot, he will just strictly use heavy artillery to pump its targets full of lead. And he will do this while wearing a creepy George Washington mask.
The release date for Bioshock: Infinite is October 13th and it plans to hit PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 consoles. Plans are also in the works for a PlayStation Vita release. No date has been given for the Vita launch.
