Here Are All The NYCC 2014 Film And TV Panels That Should Get You Excited: SHIELD, Daredevil, Gotham, Firefly And More!

New York Comic Con is nigh. Costumes are being finished. Badges are getting polished and the entire Jacob Javits center is preparing to be inundated with a combined millions of years of collective nerdery. In short, it is going to be glorious.

It is also going to be huge. This year's Con will only be surpassed by next year's Con. Like going to Sleep No More, you're never going to be able to see everything in one go (P.S you really, really need to go to Sleep No More). You have Artist's Alley, you have Autograph Alley, you have the actual comic sellers, the show floor and the booths all vying for your hard earned dollars. On top of that, you have the panels and exclusives that everyone is bringing from the Big Two on down. And then, of course, you have the Cosplay that is happening, quite literally, all around you.

If that's all too much, fear not, we're here to help make it a bit easier for you to manage. Today's focus: the film and television panels.

There Is No Dothraki Zone For Friendzone...Or Comic Con For That Matter

Always a big part of the convention, the networks are bringing a lot of content for us to devour. Who is bringing what and when?

MARVEL - the House of M will be pulling no punches this year. There will be surprises, exclusives, probably some tears even.

Agents of SHIELD - Marvel and ABC will be premiering an upcoming episode of Agents of SHIELD before it airs. The panel and screening will be moderated by Jeph Loeb, Marvel's head of television, who should also be bringing some "exciting news". The event will happen at the Main Stage 1-D on Friday, October 10 from 5:45-6:45.

Daredevil - the upcoming Netflix series following the Man Without Fear will hopefully be giving us a first look at what's in store on Saturday, October 11 at 5:45 p.m. on the Main Stage. Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock in the show, will be on hand to talk about the series. Additionally, from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, attendees can line up at the Marvel booth (#1354) to receive the autographs of Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), and Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk).

Big Hero 6 - though it doesn't take place in the MCU, Big Hero 6 is still a Marvel superhero film through and through. The Mouse House will be presenting an exclusive first look at the movie from Don Hall and Chris Williams from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 9 at the Main Stage 1-D.

DC Comics - not to be outdone, DC once again hosts the annual Preview Night screening.

Constantine - on Thursday, Warner Bros and DC will be showing off the hotly anticipated new pilot for Constantine, and the season premiere of The 100 from 8:30-10:30 on the Main Stage 1-D. You will get a second chance to catch the Hellblazer adaptation on Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Empire Stage 1-E, with a special Q&A session with Matt Ryan, Angelica Celaya and tonal overlord of DC...David S. Goyer.

Gotham - you just can't look away, can't you? The ultimate fan service show is making a splash at NYCC and we're interested simply because of the trainwreck status the show has taken on. You can check out a special video presentation on Sunday, October 12 from 1:15-2:15 p.m. at the Main Stage 1-D. A special Q&A with series stars and producers will follow.

Powers - the Brian Michael Bendis comic book about regular detectives dealing with crime in a superhero world is being adapted exclusively for Playstation Network. The live action show is coming this December and you can join producer Brian Michael Bendis and Cast Eddie Izzard, Susan Heyward, Noah Taylor and Olesya Rulin for a chat, and hopefully an exclusive first look at the show on Saturday October 11 from 3:15-4:15 at Empire Stage 1-E.

And the rest of them!

ReedPOP's Fandom Film Festival - the fan is a misunderstood creature and we certainly haven't had a flattering light in cinemas (Fan Boys? Is that the only one?) The inaugural ReedPOP festival hopes to change that. A celebration of comic conery, the mini-festival will show off clips from "Plastic Galaxy," "Rise of the eSports Hero" and "Legends of the Knight.". eSports hero, you say? Saturday, October 11 8:15-10 p.m. in room 1A14

The Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies - Join Staff from TheOneRing.net to speculate on what is coming up in the trilogy capper to Peter Jackson's The Hobbit - with inside information and maybe even some unofficial sneak peaks. They'll also be talking about the upcoming Desolation of Smaug extended edition. Saturday, October 11 from 9 to 9:45 p.m in room 1A21.

Birdman - how's this for meta? Michael Keaton is starring in a movie about an actor who portrayed an iconic superhero decades ago. Sound like art imitating life? Keaton and co-star Ed Norton will be on hand to discuss the upcoming black comedy. Chris Hardwick of The Nerdist is moderating. Friday October 10 from 6 to 7 in the Empire Stage 1-E.

The Librarians - since it's clear we're never getting another Indiana Jones (thank god) and we won't ever believe an Uncharted movie will ever happen until we're watching the end credits, it is up to Noah Wyle to lead us that roguish 'belongs in a museum' type adventure that The Librarian duology has given us. The new TNT series is showing off some sneak peeks alongside the four new librarians who will be saving the planet using the Dewey Decimal system. Friday, October 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Empire Stage 1-E.

Firefly Online - okay, so it's not technically a tv show, but it is a game based on one of the most popular cult series of this millennium. Developer Quantum Mechanix will be showing off the game mechanics of upcoming MMO, checking out the new social service The Cortex and then have an open floor Q&A. You can bet your behind GameNGuide will be there on Thursday, October 9 from 7:15 to 8:00 in room 1A06.

These are the panels and screenings we're most excited about. We love television and movies here almost as much as we love games, so we'll be covering all these the best we can. Of course, the best way to learn about what's happening is to come yourself.
