Marvel's Hawkeye is celebrating his 50th anniversary this year, and to celebrate, the team over at Madame Tussauds wax museum will be unveiling a new Hawkeye wax figure this week at New York Comic Con.
The Cast Of Daredevil Will Be Answering Questions At NYCC 2014
The wax figure is based off of Hawkeye's appearance in the Avengers movie and will bear the likeness of actor Jeremy Renner. The wax figure will debut on Thursday, October 9, the first full day of NYCC 2014, at the Midtown Comics booth.
Once the statue is revealed, it will take its place at Madame Tussauds' Times Square location in New York City. Hawkeye will join figures of Captain America, Spider-Man, the Hulk and Chris Hemsworth's Thor in the Marvel 4D Experience. More than just a collection of hero wax figures, the 4D experience includes a 3D movie complete with special effects that engage senses other than sight and sound.
The Goliath From Turtle Rock Studios' Evolve Will Be Available In Statue Form At NYCC 2014
First written by Stan Lee himself in 1964's Tales of Suspense #57, Hawkeye has been a central member of Marvel's Avengers for almost as long as he's been a character. After 2012's Avengers movie, where Jeremy Renner lost the owl-like mask and gave the character a more realistic feel, the character has seen more love in the comic books.
Though Renner's role as Hawkeye in Captain America: The Winter Soldier was cut, the character is said to be returning in two subsequent Avengers movies and possibly his own spin-off film. Renner has also teased that Hawkeye might be making an appearance in Captain America 3.
